LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– Sophomores Jenna Richter (Long
Valley, N.J./West Morris Central)
and Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville, Pa/.Souderton) have both been honored
for their play in the first two games of the season for the Lock Haven
University women’s lacrosse team.
The Lady Eagles jumped out
to a 2-0 start with wins over Merrimack College and No. 6 Limestone College.
Richter was named the
Division II Player of the Week by WomensLacrosse.com. Richter scored five goals
and added one assist in the two-game span. She netted the hat trick against
Merrimack and added two goals and an assist in a 12-7 win over Limestone.
Alderfer was named PSAC
Player of the Week for her performances in first two games of the season for
the Haven.
She tallied six goals and
one assist during the two contests. She had four goals against Merrimack
including the game-winner with less than two minutes left to lift the Lady
Eagles in their season opener 12-11. Against Limestone, she reached the scoring
column twice.
Richter, Alderfer
and the rest of the Lady Eagles kick off PSAC action today, March 16, 2005 at 4
p.m. at Millersville University.
