MILLERSVILLE,
Pa. – The Lock Haven University
women’s lacrosse team (3-0) kicked off Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) play with a thrilling 17-16
double-overtime victory over the Marauders of Millersville
University (0-1).
Sophomores
Jenna Richter (Long Valley, N.J./West
Morris Central)
and
Shannon Houck (Gilbertsville,
Pa./Boyertown)
led way for the Haven with each scoring five goals and
adding one assist.
Sophomore
Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville,
Pa./Souderton)
tallied four goals and added an assist while Sophomore
Lindsay Rentel
(Medford Lakes , N.J./Shawnee)
chipped in with two goals.
Senior
Diana Strizki
(Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central) added three
assists while freshmen Caitlyn
Watts (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood)
and Caitlin LaBonte (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) helped
fuel the offense with each scoring one goal and adding a
helper.
Sophomore
Christie
Dunning (Ivyland, Pa./Central Bucks East) and
freshman
Kimberly Allan
(Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown)
split time in net. Dunning
played the first half making three saves while Allan
played the second half and both overtime periods making
six saves.
The Lady
Eagles will be back in action on in their home opener on
Saturday, March 19, when the host Shippensburg University
at 1 p.m.
