HAVEN, Pa. –
The No. 5 Lock Haven University (6-1, 2-1 PSAC) women’s
lacrosse team jumped out to a 7-2 halftime lead and
coasted to a 11-8 win over Mercyhurst College (3-5) today
(March 29).
Senior
Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central)
was the spark plug in the Haven’s offense as she became
Lock Haven’s second all-time leading scorer. She found the
back of the net seven times giving her 25 goals on the
season and 164 in her career. She is just four goals away
from breaking Kris Pickersgill’s record set in
1996-99.
Sophomores
Jenna Richter (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central)
Lindsay Rentel (Medford Lakes, N.J./Shawnee)
Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) and
freshman Caitlin LaBonte (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal) all
added a goal in the win for the Lady Eagles.
Richter also dished out two assists, while Rentel,
freshman Caitlyn Watts (Willow
Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood)
and sophomore
Stephanie Wood (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central)
all had one.
Freshman
Kimberly Allan (Pottstown,
Pa./Pottstown)
picked up the win in net for the Haven making eight saves
and improved to 5-1 on the season.
The Lady Eagles will be
back in action on Wednesday, March 30, when the travel to
IUP for Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action.
