LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The No.
5 Lock Haven University (8-1, 4-1 PSAC) women’s
lacrosse team defeated East Stroudsburg University
(1-4, 1-4 PSAC) in Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference action today (April 2) 18-4.
The
Lady Eagles led 6-2 at halftime before turning up
the offense in the second half.
Senior
Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon
Central), became Lock Haven’s all-time leader in
career goals. She tallied six goals and added two
assists. She needed only two goals to break
Kris Pickersgill’s
record set in 1996-99.
Sophomore
Lindsay Rentel (Medford
Lakes, N.J./Shawnee)
continued
to be a key link in the Haven offense racking up
five goals in the win.
Sophomores
Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton)
and
Shannon Houck (Gilbertsville, Pa./Boyertown)
also found the back of the net for the Haven
scoring three and two respectively. Sophomore
Jenna Richter (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris
Central) and freshman
Samantha Stoyer (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim
Township) both added one goal.
Richter also handed out three assists with
Kim Penuel (Collegeville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley),
Caitlin LaBonte (Vestal, N.Y./Vestal),
and Caitlyn Watts (Willow Grove, Pa./Archbishop
Wood) all dishing out one apiece.
Freshman
Kimberly Allan (Pottstown,
Pa./Pottstown)
played the
majority of the game between the pipes making two
saves on the day. Sophomore
Christie Dunning (Ivyland, Pa./Central
Bucks East) saw some action in the closing
minutes, but did not record any saves.
The Lady
Eagles will be back in action on Monday, April 4,
with the travel to No. 4 West Chester University in
PSAC action.
