Lady Eagles Fly By Bloomsburg

HAVEN, Pa. – The No. 5 Lock Haven University
(11-2, 7-2 PSAC) women’s lacrosse team picked up a
monumental win today (April 13) over No. 7
Bloomsburg University (7-5, 6-3 PSAC) 17-5.
The Lady Eagles picked up their 11th
win on the season, which is the most wins ever in
school history.
The Haven jumped out to an early three goal lead
before the Huskies tied the game at three. Lock
Haven would go on and score 12 unanswered goals.
Sophomore
Jenna Richter (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris
Central) fueled the Lady Eagle attack scoring
the first two goals of the game and racking up 10
total points. She scored five goals and dished out
five assists.
Senior
Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon
Central)
continued to be a main stay in the box score
tallying three goals and handing out five assists.
Already the career goals and points leader, she is
now just four assists away from owning the career
assist record as well.
Freshman
Caitlin LaBonte
(Vestal, N.Y./Vestal)
netted three goals, while
sophomore
Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton)
and freshman
Caitlyn Watts (Willow
Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood)
both scored two goals
apiece.
Sophomores
Shannon Houck (Gilbertsville,
Pa./Boyertown)
and
Lindsay Rentel (Medford
Lakes, N.J./Shawnee)
also notched a goal
apiece. Houck picked up two assists and Rentel added
another.
Freshman
Kimberly Allan (Pottstown,
Pa./Pottstown)
continued her solid play
in net making seven saves in the win.
The Lady Eagles out shot
Bloomsburg 31-23 and held a 26-24 advantage in
ground balls.
Lock Haven is back in
action on Saturday, April 16, when they travel to
take on No. 8 Philadelphia University at noon.
