HAVEN, Pa.
– The No. 6 Lock
Haven University (14-3, 9-3 PSAC) women’s lacrosse
team was defeated today (April 23) in their regular
season finale by No. 2 West Chester University (14-1
12-0 PSAC) 22-8.
The Lady Eagles
jumped out to an early 2-0 lead scoring twice within
the first two minutes of the game, but trailed 8-4
at halftime.
Sophomore
Mandy Alderfer (Harleysville,
Pa./Souderton)
put the Haven on the
board at 29:03 of the first half and freshman
Caitlyn Watts (Willow
Grove, Pa./Archbishop Wood)
scored
30 seconds later.
Senior
Diana Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon
Central), sophomore
Jenna Richter (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris
Central),
and Alderfer all finished with two goals apiece.
Richter also dished out one assist.
Sophomore
Lindsay Rentel (Medford
Lakes, N.J./Shawnee)
tallied one goal and added an assist for the Haven.
Freshman
Kimberly Allan (Pottstown, Pa./Pottstown) got the
start in net and made seven saves. Sophomore
Christie Dunning (Ivyland, Pa./Central Bucks
East) saw
action late in the game and picked up one save.
The Lady Eagles will
be back in action when they host No. 7 Bloomsburg
University on Tuesday, April 26, in the Pennsylvania
State Athletic Conference Semi-Finals.
