Men's Basketball Controls ESU, 69-53

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Powered by 49 points from their three starting forwards, the Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (2-10) slayed the East Stroudsburg University Warriors (4-7), 69-53 tonight at the Thomas Fieldhouse.

Senior forward Quentin Terry (York, Pa./Central York) led a trio of Bald Eagle forwards in double-digits with a career-high 24 points to go with seven rebounds. Sophomore Jason DeJesus (Hershey, Pa./Milton Hershey) chipped in with 14 points in his second game as a Bald Eagle, and senior forward Joe Walker (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) had another characteristically well-balanced game, posting 11 points and game-highs of 14 rebounds and six assists on the night.

LHU got off to a slow start, trailing for the first 10 minutes. The Bald Eagles took the lead for the first time on a layup by Ryan Carson (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) with 10:05 remaining, but the lead would change hands four times in the remainder of the half, ending with a 27-21 LHU halftime ledger.

The Bald Eagles controlled the second half, out-shooting the Warriors 78 (18-of-23) to 39 (13-of-33) percent, bettering ESU by 10 points to earn the 69-53 victory. Terry put up 18 of his 24 points in the second half, leading the Haven to victory in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference crossover.

Terry, DeJesus, Walker, Carson and the rest of the Bald Eagles are back in action Sunday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. as they play host to Mansfield University.
