LOCK HAVEN, Pa.
– Powered by 49 points from their three starting
forwards, the Lock Haven University men’s basketball
team (2-10) slayed the East Stroudsburg University
Warriors (4-7), 69-53 tonight at the Thomas Fieldhouse.
Senior forward
Quentin Terry
(York, Pa./Central York) led a trio of Bald Eagle
forwards in double-digits with a career-high 24 points
to go with seven rebounds. Sophomore
Jason DeJesus
(Hershey, Pa./Milton Hershey) chipped in with 14
points in his second game as a Bald Eagle, and senior
forward Joe
Walker (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) had
another characteristically well-balanced game, posting
11 points and game-highs of 14 rebounds and six assists
on the night.
LHU
got off to a slow start, trailing for the first 10
minutes. The Bald Eagles took the lead for the first
time on a layup by
Ryan Carson
(Landisville, Pa./Hempfield)
with 10:05 remaining, but the lead would change hands
four times in the remainder of the half, ending with a
27-21 LHU halftime ledger.
The
Bald Eagles controlled the second half, out-shooting the
Warriors 78 (18-of-23) to 39 (13-of-33) percent,
bettering ESU by 10 points to earn the 69-53 victory.
Terry put up 18 of his 24 points in the second half,
leading the Haven to victory in the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference crossover.
Terry, DeJesus, Walker, Carson and the rest of the Bald
Eagles are back in action Sunday, Jan. 9 at 3 p.m. as
they play host to Mansfield University. |
