LOCK HAVEN, Pa.—The
Lock Haven University men’s basketball team (2-11) got off
to a slow start and couldn’t recover, eventually dropping
a game to Mansfield University (6-7), 82-61 tonight at
Thomas Fieldhouse. Senior
Joe Walker
(Lock Haven,
Pa./Central Mountain)
and sophomore
James
Chappell (Coatesville,
Pa./Coatesville Area)
led the way for the Bald Eagles with 14 points apiece.
Walker added a game-high eight rebounds to his
performance, and Chappell went 3-of-6 from long range in a
reserve role.
The
Bald Eagles had just one lead, as senior forward
Quentin Terry
(York,
Pa./Central York)
would get his own rebound and a putback for the first two
points of the game. Terry finished with 11 points.
The
Mountaineers felled the Bald Eagles with a 17-4 run that
began late in the first half and carried over into the
second. Mansfield’s success carried through the rest of
the second half, as it shot 13-of-21 (62 percent) from the
field.
Walker, Chappell, Terry and the rest of the Bald Eagles
are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 12 at 8 p.m. as they
begin their conference schedule by hosting Indiana
University (Pa.). |
