BLOOMSBURG, Pa.—Senior
forward
Quentin Terry (York,
Pa./Central York)
had a breakout day,
putting up career-highs of 27 points and 16 rebounds with
three blocks, but the Lock Haven University men’s
basketball team (2-13) fell at Bloomsburg University
(4-12) 62-54 today.
The
teams battled back-and-forth in the first half, with LHU
stretching its largest lead at 14-9 on a three-pointer by
senior
Eddie Christiano (Coal
Township, Pa./Lourdes Regional).
Christiano would finish with 11 points, including three
field goals from long range.
Bloomsburg held a slim halftime advantage of 27-24, its
lead trimmed to three on a shot by Terry with 11 seconds
left in the first half. The trend would continue in the
second half, as LHU would earn ties on three different
occasions in the first seven minutes.
The
Huskies would catch fire midway through the second stanza,
enjoying a 15-4 run, aided by five missed Bald Eagle shots
and six turnovers.
Senior forward
Joe Walker (Lock Haven,
Pa./Central Mountain)
posted nine
points with 15 rebounds and a team-high four assists.
The
Bald Eagles haven’t won at Bloomsburg since Dec. 7, 1988.
Terry, Christiano, Walker and the rest of the Bald Eagles
are back in action Wednesday, Jan. 19 at 8 p.m. as they
travel to Clarion University. |
