EDINBORO, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University
men’s basketball team (2-17, 10-5 PSAC West) hung with No.
12 Edinboro University (17-2, 4-0 PSAC West) for the first
eight minutes, grabbing the lead for the majority of that
time, before the Fighting Scots caught fire, riding that
spark to an eventual 69-54 victory tonight.
LHU
held the advantage for the majority of the early-going,
including a height of three points at two different
occasions, the latter of which came at the 16:08 mark on a
free-throw by
Joe Walker (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain).
Edinboro answered with a 22-7 run to finish the first
half, aided by nine LHU turnovers.
Sophomore Jason DeJesus (Hershey,
Pa./Milton Hershey)
paced the Bald Eagles with a 15-point effort off the
bench, including three three-pointers. Sophomore forward
Michael Dye
(Milford,
Pa./Delaware Valley)
would add 11 points of his own, mimicking
DeJesus’s
3-for-7 performance from long-range.
This
marks the second time the Bald Eagles have faced a
nationally-ranked team this season, as they also lost to
then-No. 12 IUP, 82-59 Jan. 12.
Walker, Chappell, Dye and the rest of the Bald Eagles are
back in action Saturday, Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. as they host
California University on PSECU Night. |
