INDIANA, Pa. –
The Lock Haven University men’s
basketball team’s (2-18, 0-6 PSAC West) starting five
out-scored the IUP (18-5, 4-3 PSAC West) starters 52-31,
but a 45-11 deficit in bench scoring was too much to
overcome, as the Bald Eagles fell at IUP, 76-63 tonight.
Senior forward
Quentin Terry
(York, Pa./Central York) paced
the Bald Eagles with 18 points.
Joining Terry in
double figures were the usual suspects of fellow seniors
Joe Walker
(Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain)
and
Eddie
Christiano (Coal Township, Pa./Lourdes Regional)
at 14 and 12 points, respectively. Walker added team-highs
of eight rebounds and five assists to the cause.
The trio of
seniors—Walker, Terry and Christiano—have led the Bald
Eagles in scoring for 16 of LHU’s 20 games.
The Bald Eagles
grabbed one lead at 8-7 with 17:35 to go in the first half
on a three-pointer by sophomore
Michael Dye
(Milford, Pa./Delaware Valley). IUP would answer with
an 11-2 run, riding that advantage for the remainder of
the contest.
Terry, Walker,
Christiano, Dye and the rest of the Bald Eagles are back
in action Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 8 p.m. as they host Clarion
University. |
