LOCK
HAVEN, Pa. - Playing their second of three straight
games didn't slow down the
Bald Eagle attack, as the Lock Haven University men's
basketball team (1-4) defeated Cheyney University
(1-5) to earn their first
victory of the season, 86-77.
Senior guard Eddie Christiano (Coal
Township, Pa/Lourdes Regional) led
all scorers with 27 points, connecting on six of
eight long-range attempts.
Senior Quentin Terry (York, Pa./Central York)
collected the first
double-double of his career, chipping in with 21 points
and 10 rebounds.
The Haven opened up the game on a 16-4
run, aided by 11 points and three
three-pointers from Christiano. The Wolves would
immediately cut the deficit to
three, but that would be as close as they would get.
Lock Haven held a 38-33
halftime advantage, and was in control for the entire
game.
Senior forward Joe Walker (Lock Haven, Pa./Central
Mountain) was held in
check in the scoring column, but contributed to the
victory with 14 rebounds and
nine assists, both game-highs.
Other Eagles in double figures were
sophomores James Chappell
(Coatesville, Pa./Coatesville Area) and Michael
Dye (Milford, Pa./Delaware
Valley) with 15 and 12 points, respectively.
Lock Haven shot a season best 53.6
percent from the floor, 61.5 percent
shooting in the second half. LHU was also 8-13
from behind the arc.
Christiano, Terry, Walker, Chappell, and Dye and the
rest of the Bald Eagles will
return to action Sunday, Dec. 5 at 3 p.m. as they play
host to Millersville
University.
