N.Y.) - A
goal in the 105th minute by Bald Eagle forward
Ashley Rosindale (Bradford, England/Beckfoot School)
gave Lock Haven the 2-1 win in double overtime over
Southampton College. The Bald Eagles, ranked sixth in the
Northeast Region, improve to 3-2 on the season.
Southampton, who was fourth in the region, is now 2-2-1
overall.
The Southampton Colonials scored early at
the 17 minute mark, as Adam Shearwood netted an unassisted
tally for the 1-0 lead. It would not be until the 61st
minute when the Haven would muster the equalizer as
David Russell (Weatherly/Weatherly) headed in the ball
after a scramble in front of the net.
The teams remained deadlocked at 1-1
throughout the rest of the second period along with one
overtime period. It was not until 104:56 that Rosindale
would finish off a breakaway with the game winner.
The Bald Eagles, now 3-2 overall, host the
Lock Haven Tournament this weekend. On Saturday,
Bloomsburg University will play C.W. Post at 2 p.m. and
LHU will face NYIT at 4 p.m. On Sunday, Bloomsburg and
NYIT play at 11 a.m. while LHU hosts C.W. Post at 1 p.m. |
