LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
Down 2-1 at the half,
the Lock
Haven University men’s
soccer team (8-4-1, 2-2 PSAC) netted three second-half
goals to defeat Shippensburg University (7-4, 1-2 PSAC),
4-2 today.
SU’s Andy Jennings got the
scoring started with back-to-back goals in the first half.
Chris Spinks (Dunfermline,
Scotland/Queen Anne/Telford
Clg) answered for the Bald Eagles with a rebound putback
for the 2-1 halftime tally.
The top scorers for the
Haven took over in the second half, as No. 1 Ashley
Rosindale (Bradford, England/Beckfoot School) recorded
two and No. 2 Andrew Meehan (Cheltenham/Cheltenham)
scored the final strike to down the Red Raiders.
Rosindale scored his first
under eight minutes into the second half on a penalty
shot, his second on an indirect kick from 40 yards out.
Meehan tapped a loose ball in to complete the scoring.
Bald Eagle goalkeeper
Chad Feerrar (Lock Haven/Central Mountain) made two
stops in four tries to improve to 5-1 on the season. SU’s
Bill Davis made four stops in eight tries in the loss.
Spinks, Rosindale, Meehan, Feerrar and the rest of the
Bald Eagles are back in action Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m.
at East Stroudsburg University. |
