Second-Half Goals Power Men's Soccer Past #24 Shippensburg

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Down 2-1 at the half, the Lock Haven University men’s soccer team (8-4-1, 2-2 PSAC) netted three second-half goals to defeat Shippensburg University (7-4, 1-2 PSAC), 4-2 today.

SU’s Andy Jennings got the scoring started with back-to-back goals in the first half. Chris Spinks (Dunfermline, Scotland/Queen Anne/Telford Clg) answered for the Bald Eagles with a rebound putback for the 2-1 halftime tally.

The top scorers for the Haven took over in the second half, as No. 1 Ashley Rosindale (Bradford, England/Beckfoot School) recorded two and No. 2 Andrew Meehan (Cheltenham/Cheltenham) scored the final strike to down the Red Raiders.

Rosindale scored his first under eight minutes into the second half on a penalty shot, his second on an indirect kick from 40 yards out. Meehan tapped a loose ball in to complete the scoring.

Bald Eagle goalkeeper Chad Feerrar (Lock Haven/Central Mountain) made two stops in four tries to improve to 5-1 on the season. SU’s Bill Davis made four stops in eight tries in the loss.

Spinks, Rosindale, Meehan, Feerrar and the rest of the Bald Eagles are back in action Sunday, Oct. 10 at 1 p.m. at East Stroudsburg University.
