LOCK HAVEN, Pa. –
The Lock
Haven University
men’s soccer team (9-4-2, 3-2-1 PSAC West) continued their
roll as of late winning its fifth game of the last six in
a 3-1 tally over Bloomsburg University (5-8, 0-4 PSAC).
Senior Dustin Bixler (Mechanicsburg,
Pa./Redland) notched the game-winning strike.
Senior Andrew Mason
(Morrisville,
Pa./Pennsbury) recorded his first goal of the season to
get things started as a ball was knocked loose in front of
the goalkeeper and Mason hit a ricochet into the net.
The 6-foot-4 Bixler skied
above the defense to head in a corner kick from defending
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Player of the Week
Ashley Rosindale (Bradford,
England/Beckfoot
School) for goal number two.
Sophomore Patrick Long
(Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) stole an errant Huskie
pass at midfield and hit a streaking David Russell
(Weatherly, Pa./Weatherly) in stride for the final LHU
tally.
Adam Clay hit for the
Huskies with 1:54 left, but it was too little too late as
the Bald Eagles held on for the win.
Freshman Chad Feerrar
(Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) made eight saves to
improve to 6-1 and T.J. Ciotti made four saves in seven
tries in the loss.
Bixler, Mason, Rosindale, Long, Russell, Feerrar and the
rest of the Bald Eagles are back in action on Wednesday,
Oct. 20 at 3 p.m. at the University of the District of
Columbia. |
