LOCK
HAVEN, Pa. – Lock Haven University men’s soccer
team (2-0, 1-0 PSAC) emerged victorious over the California University (Pa.)
Vulcans (1-2, 0-1 PSAC) 4-0 in the rain today (Aug. 31).
LHU’s
Ashley Rosindale (Bradford,
England/Beckfoot School) started the scoring early, taking a long pass
from Adam P. Rice (Tallahassee,
Fla./Leon), dribbling through defenders and putting it in the goal
cleanly.
Before the first half ended, freshman
Scott M.
Patrick (Harrisburg, Pa./Lower Dauphin) took a pass from Rice
and scored the second goal of the game, giving the Bald Eagles a 2-0 lead
and Rice his second assist of the contest. Then in less than a minute and a
half later, freshman Tommy Ehrlich
(Bethlehem, Pa./Liberty) squeaked one past the keeper to pop the air out
of the Vulcan balloon.
Junior forward
David Russell (Weatherly,
Pa./Weatherly) culminated the evening’s scoring with a goal 18:20 into
the second half.
“It was a very good victory,” said Lock
Haven coach Doug Moore. “The game was
closer than the four to nothing score indicates.”
Goalkeepers
William Trimble III (Lancaster,
Pa./Manheim Township) and Chad
Feerrar (Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) have split time in each
game to hold Lock Haven’s first two opponents scoreless.
Moore believes his team is not yet
firing on all cylinders and has much room for improvement.
Rosindale, Rice, Patrick, Ehrlich, Russell, Trimble, Feerrar
and the rest of the Bald Eagles are back in action when they travel to
Oakdale, N.Y. to face #3 Dowling College on Sunday, Aug. 4 at noon. |
