SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. – After a
stingy, scoreless first half, the Lock Haven University
men’s soccer team (2-2, 1-1 PSAC) jumped out to an early
second-half lead, but couldn’t hold on, eventually
falling to Slippery Rock University (2-2, 2-1 PSAC) 2-1
today (Sept. 7).
Sophomore
Ashley Rosindale (Bradford, England/Beckfoot School)
scored the third goal of his young season, giving the
Bald Eagles a 1-0 lead just under 10 minutes into the
second frame.
The
lead held for 23 minutes, until SRU’s Gary Saunders
knocked one past freshman goalkeeper
William Trimble
III (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) to knot
the game 1-1. Ed Mocarsky put the Haven behind 2-1 with
just 3:30 left in the contest, handing the Bald Eagles
their first conference loss.
Trimble
(1-1) made three saves in five tries, while Pat
Passewitz made two stops.
Rosindale, Trimble and the rest of the Bald Eagles are
back in action Saturday, Sept. 10 at as they travel to
their third conference opponent in Millersville
