MILLERSVILLE, Pa. – The Lock
Haven University men’s soccer team (2-2-1, 1-1-1 PSAC)
scored first, but eventually tied Millersville
University (2-1-1, 1-1-1 PSAC) 1-1 today (Sept. 10).
Junior
Chris Spinks (Dunfermline,
Scotland/Queen Anne) broke the scoreless tie 11:10
into the contest, when he took a pass from junior
Patrick Long
(Lock Haven, Pa./Central Mountain) into the left
corner for his first goal of the 2005 season.
Millersville knotted the score a little over 16 minutes
later on a goal by Sean McLaughlin.
Both
teams had numerous scoring opportunities over the
remainder of the regulation and two overtime periods, but
both goalkeepers stonewalled their opposing offenses.
Freshman
William Trimble III
(Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township)
made a career-high eight saves, while MU’s Damian Ambrosia
would stop seven shots to earn the tie.
Spinks,
Long, Trimble and the rest of the Bald Eagles are back in
action Tuesday, Sept. 13 when they host No. 9 East
Stroudsburg University (4-2, 2-2 PSAC). |
