(Lock Haven, Pa.) - Lock Haven
University of Pennsylvania has announced that Head Men’s Soccer Coach Rob
Eaton, Assistant Football Coach John Allen, and Assistant Football Coach John
Bell will all be leaving their posts in order to pursue other professional
opportunities.
“All of these coaches have worked well with our
student-athletes and have given very good service to Lock Haven University,”
said Lock Haven Director of Athletics Sharon E. Taylor.
“We wish them well in the next phase of their personal and
professional pursuits.”
Eaton resigned his position as Head Men’s Soccer
Coach after five years at the helm of The Haven squad.
Under Eaton, the Bald Eagles advanced to four Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) playoffs and his teams have sported a 53-32-6 (.615)
overall mark. There have been a
combined 24 players earn All-PSAC honors and another eight make All-Northeast
Region status during Eaton’s tenure. Over
his coaching career, he has amassed a 146-111-12 tally.
Eaton is a 1988 graduate of Lock Haven University and was a four-year
standout on the men’s soccer team from 1983-87.
John Allen leaves his role as the Bald Eagles’
offensive coordinator in order to take a new position with the Bucknell
University football team. A six
year-veteran of the LHU football coaching staff, Allen has held down several
positions, including offensive coordinator, recruiting coordinator,
administrative assistant, secondary and special teams coach.
Prior to coming to Lock Haven, Allen was an assistant coach at Spotswood
High School in Virginia.
John
Bell departs Lock Haven to take a position on the Saint Joseph’s (Ind.)
College football coaching staff. Bell
was a two-year member of the LHU staff, tutoring the Bald Eagles’ defensive
line during the 2000 and 2001 seasons. Prior
to his Lock Haven appointment, Bell served as an assistant at Hampton High
School in Allison Park, Pa., and as an assistant coach at Slippery Rock
University.
“The departure of Allen and Bell are two big losses for the Lock Haven
University football staff,” said Head Football Coach Mark Luther. “They are
both outstanding people and great coaches, and leave two sets of big shoes to
fill.”
The
University is currently opening the searches to fill the coaching vacancies.
