(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania football team has announced its 2002 Spring Football awards, honoring Kevin Scheidler (Millersburg/Millersburg Area) and Nathan Eck (Jersey Shore/Jersey Shore) as Harry E. Bradley Spring Football Award winners, and Jim Hanzely (DuBois/DuBois Area) as the newest honoree of the Willis Endowed Scholarship.

Every year the football team awards the Harry E. Bradley Spring Football Award to an offensive and defensive player who best exhibits the dedication and commitment to the sport starting with the off-season conditioning through to the spring season. This year’s offensive recipient is Kevin Scheidler, a red-shirt freshman working at tight end for the Bald Eagles.  The defensive recipient is Nate Eck.  Eck is a junior defensive end for the Crimson and White.
Senior strong safety Jim Hanzely is the 2002 recipient of the Willis Endowed Scholarship.  The Willis Endowed Scholarship is awarded annually to the senior football player who displays the characteristics of a true student-athlete – citizenship, commitment, dedication, leadership, and a positive attitude both on the playing field and in the classroom.
The 2002 Lock Haven football season opens on August 31 with a trip to Northeastern University.  Kickoff at Parsons Field is tentatively slated for 12:30 p.m.
