LHU's Murray Nabs PSAC West Softball Player of the Week Honor

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lynnette Murray (Williamsport/S. Williamsport), a junior softball player for Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, earned Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Player of the Week honors for all games ending April 21.
            Murray was a key component in Lock Haven’s 7-1 week, leading the Lady Eagle offense with a .556 (15-for-27) batting average.  She had seven RBI, five runs, four doubles and a total of eight stolen bases.  Top performances of the week came against Edinboro and Slippery Rock.  In the second game against Edinboro, she was 3-for-3 with two RBI, a double, and two stolen bases.  Murray was 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs in the first of the pair against Slippery Rock.
            The junior second baseman leads Lock Haven and is sixth in the PSAC with a .409 batting average.  Murray has a team-best 11 doubles along with three home runs.  She currently leads the conference and is fast approaching the Lock Haven single season record (34) with 28 stolen bases.  
            Lock Haven softball is 29-10 overall and 11-3 in the PSAC West.  Up next for the Lady Eagles is a conference doubleheader against Indiana (Pa.) University on Tuesday, April 23, at 3 p.m. on LHU’s Lawrence Field.
