Bald Eagles' Conklin Earns PSAC West Player of the Week Honors

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Kevin Conklin (State College/State College), a senior baseball player for Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, earned mention as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Player of the Week for games ending April 21.
            Conklin hit .500 (10-for-20) in a 4-2 week for The Haven that consisted of splits with Slippery Rock University and California (Pa.) University and a sweep of Clarion University.  From his lead-off spot, the senior centerfielder registered nine runs, four doubles, a home run, and two RBI.  He also coaxed five walks over the six-game span, totaling a .600 on-base percentage. Conklin stepped up to provide extra help in the 11-10 victory over Clarion, earning the pitching win by throwing the final two innings.
            For the season, Conklin leads the Bald Eagles with a .368 batting average.  He has posted eight doubles, three triples and three home runs along with 14 RBI.  
            The Bald Eagle baseball team is 17-17-1 overall and 9-4-1 in the PSAC West.  On the schedule next for LHU is a conference doubleheader against Indiana (Pa.) University on Wednesday, April 24.  Game one is slated to start at 1 p.m. on LHU’s Foundation Field.
