LHU Cross Country Runners Garner Academic All-America Honors
Lady Eagle Squad Earns Team Honors

   
LHU Cross Country's Academic All-Americans (l-r):

  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Four members of the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s cross country teams received Academic All-America honors from the NCAA Division II Cross Country Coaches Association, while the women's team obtained Academic All-American team honors for its second-straight year.
        Meghan Johnson (Brookville, Pa./Brookeville), Jana Kauffman (Strasburg, Pa./Lampeter-Strasburg), Jessica Stoltzfus (Elizabethtown, Pa./Elizabethtown),
and Mike Trumbull (Punxsutawney, Pa./Punxsutawney) were named Academic All-Americans during the 2001 season for their outstanding performance on the course and in the classroom. These harriers have maintained at least a 3.25 grade point average throughout their collegiate careers and placed among the top 30-percent at their respective regional championships. 
      Jana Kauffman is a Health Science major who earned both All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) and All-Region honors in the 2001 season. Meghan Johnson, an Elementary/Special Education major, and Jessica Stoltzfus, an Elementary Education major, both assisted Kauffman in leading the Lady Eagles to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships and a sixth-place finish at the PSAC Championships. These three harriers also played a key role in the women’s squad earning its second straight Academic All-American team accolade for having a combined grade point average of at least 3.0.  
       Mike Trumbull, a Secondary Education major with a concentration in Social Science, was an All-PSAC runner for the Bald Eagles. He helped lead Lock Haven to a pair of fourth-place finishes at the NCAA Division II East Region and PSAC Championships.
