LHU Softball's Shuey Scores PSAC Pitcher of the Week Honors

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Molly Shuey (Tower City/Williams Valley) of the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania softball team was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Pitcher of the Week for games ending April 28.
            LHU's Molly Shuey, a freshman right-hander, went 3-0 this week, posting wins over California (Pa.) University, Indiana (Pa.) University, and Clarion University.  She earned two shutout victories, including a 4-0 win over California and a 6-0 win against Clarion.  Shuey worked in the pitcher’s circle for 18 innings, giving up just three earned runs and three walks while striking out eight batters.  
            On the season, Shuey owns a 12-2 win-loss mark and a team-leading 1.57 earned run average.  
            The Lock Haven softball team is 34-11 overall and finished PSAC Western Division play with a 16-4 record.  The Lady Eagles advance to the PSAC Championship being held at California, Pa., from May 3-4.  Lock Haven is the second seed from the West, and will take on Eastern Division top seed Bloomsburg University on Friday, May 3, at 12 p.m.  Western Division first seed California plays the East’s second seed, Shippensburg University, at 10 a.m. on Friday.
