Field Hockey's Coach Rudy To Be Inducted Into Manheim Central Hall of Fame

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Pat Rudy, head field hockey coach for Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, will be inducted into the Manheim Central Hall of Fame on April 12, 2003, at the Second Annual “Hall of Fame Day” banquet. Coach Rudy, a 1973 graduate of Manheim Central High School, along with nine others, will be inducted into the school’s Hall of Fame as recognition for bringing distinction to the school and community. 
            Rudy completed her seventh season as the head field hockey coach at Lock Haven University in 2002, advancing her 18-5 Lady Eagles to the PSAC championship game and the semifinals of the NCAA Division II tournament.  Throughout her LHU tenure, Rudy has posted a 128-29 (.815) record with one national title and four PSAC championships.  She reached her 100th victory at Lock Haven in 2001 and her 300th career victory milestone in 2000. Also serving as head field hockey and lacrosse coach at SUNY Cortland from 1981-96, over her entire coaching career she has guided her teams to a combined three national championships (1993, 94 – Division III; 2000 – Division II).
            Rudy is a 1977 graduate of Lock Haven State College, earning her bachelor of science degree in health and physical education.  A four-year field hockey student-athlete between 1973-76, she scored 65 goals and is still fourth on the LHU all-time scoring list.  She then went on to earn her master’s degree in physical education from Illinois State University in 1981. In addition to her duties at the University, Rudy is also currently serving as the chair of the Futures Committee of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
