Lady Eagle Soccer Ranked Fifth in NSCAA Pre-Season Poll

(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania women’s soccer team is ranked fifth in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Division II pre-season poll released today.
Situated on top of the pre-season rankings is 2001 national champion UC San Diego followed by last year’s runner-up, Christian Brothers University.  Ranked third was Northern Kentucky University and fourth was Franklin Pierce College.
The No.-5 billing is the highest pre-season ranking for any Lock Haven women’s soccer team.  Last year’s Haven squad went 18-4-0 last season, earning its third-straight Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament title and the NCAA Division II Northeast Regional Championship.
The 2002 edition of Lady Eagle soccer, under first-year head coach Shannon Champ, kicks off the season on August 31 against Lindsey Wilson College at the Family First facility in Erie, Pa.  LHU’s first home match will be played on Sat., Sept. 7, versus Felician College at 4 p.m. on McCollum Field
