Haven, Pa.) - Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania has
announced the promotion of Peter Campbell to Associate Director of Athletics.
Campbell was previously serving as the Assistant Director of Athletics at Lock
Haven.
As Associate Director, Campbell’s role will expand to take on more
administrative duties, including the handling of the department’s compliance
issues.
Campbell was named Assistant Director of Athletics in the winter of 2000
following two seasons as the head women’s soccer coach at the University.
In his two years as assistant director, Campbell has assisted in policy
setting and procedures for the athletics program as well as fund-raising and
promotional efforts. He has been
responsible for event management at all home contests, the scheduling of
facilities and team transportation to away contests, team and officials
contracts, and for managing the deferred payment student workers within the
department of athletics. Campbell was also instrumental in instituting the
department’s Drug and Alcohol Policy, which goes into effect for the first
time this year.
As head women’s soccer coach, Campbell guided the Lady Eagles to two
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championships, two straight
berths into the NCAA Division II national tournament, and an overall 31-6-4
record. He was named PSAC Coach of
the Year both seasons, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)
Northeast Region Coach of the Year, and guided three players to All-America
status.
Campbell earned his bachelor’s degree from Gannon University in 1991
before obtaining a law degree from Cleveland Marshall College of Law in 1995.
