LHU Football Players Earn ECAC All-Star Awards
Burkley, Carey Garner First Team Honors

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Marcus Burkley (Pittsburgh/Woodland Hills) and Rob Carey (North Braddock/Woodland Hills), both football players for Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II South All-Star honors.  The pair of Woodland Hills High School graduates were both First Team honorees.
            Marcus Burkley, a sophomore wide receiver, joins the ECAC All-Star list for the first time.  A two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division athlete, this season Burkley paced LHU with 417 yards receiving and four touchdowns.  He reeled in 37 passes in 10 games, averaging 11.3 yards per catch and 41.7 yards per game.

             Rob Carey is also a first time ECAC All-Star selection.  Carey is a two-time All-PSAC Western Division pick, this year earning a First Team selection as a defensive back and Second Team recognition as a return specialist.  From his cornerback position, Carey led the Bald Eagles with five interceptions, including one run back for the touchdown against Mansfield University, and seven pass breakups.  He finished third on the team with 89 total tackles, including six for loss.  As a return specialist, Carey led the PSAC in punt returns with an 11.8 yards average, and was third in the conference in kickoff returns, averaging 26.3 yards per return along with two touchdowns.  
            The Lock Haven University football team finished the season with a 3-8 overall mark and a 1-5 ledger in the PSAC Western Division.
