	December 17, 2002 LHU Wrestling's Gilligan and Maney Earn Weekly Honors Gilligan Selected as PSAC Wrestler of the Week; Maney Named EWL Wrestler of the Week

	(Lock Haven, Pa.) - Jason Gilligan (Brookville/Brookville) and Mike Maney (Clarence/Bald Eagle Area), both juniors on the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania wrestling team, were recipients of weekly conference honors. Gilligan was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Wrestler of the Week, while Maney was named the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Wrestler of the Week for events ending December 15. Gilligan, a junior 165-pounder, went 2-0 in matches wrestled at the Clarion Duals on Sunday. Though the Bald Eagles lost to Kent State University, 18-18 on criteria, Gilligan scored a 6-3 win over No. 9-ranked Nick Nemeth in the battle. In his other match, he handed the University of Findlay’s Lucas Mackesy, a returning Division II All-American, a 6-3 loss. Gilligan is 8-3 on the season, and earned the No. 19 spot at 165 pounds in the latest InterMat (12/17) rankings and was No. 20 in the WrestlingReport.com individual rankings. 	Maney, ranked third at 141 pounds, was one of two LHU wrestlers to go 3-0 in the weekend’s bouts. The junior grappler opened with a fall in 4:43 over Findlay’s Von Graham followed with an 8-0 major decision over Tom Kniewseski of American University. In his final bout of day, Maney scored an 8-1 decision over Kent State’s Ryan Simmons. He is 13-1 on the season and is undefeated in dual meets with an 8-0 ledger. Maney leads LHU with five major decisions and has also added three pins and a technical fall. The Bald Eagles improved to 6-2 in dual meets after going 2-1 at the Clarion Duals with wins over Findlay (31-9) and American University (46-0), and a loss to Kent State (18-18).
