Haven, Pa.) - Paul
Hallman (Langhorne/Neshaminy)
and Sandy Ritz (West Hazelton/Hazelton) on the Lock Haven University of
Pennsylvania indoor track and field team, earned Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference (PSAC) Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week
honors for events ending February 17.
Hallman, a freshman middle-distance runner, won the mile at Saturday's
Deneault Invitational hosted by Cornell University in a time of 4:18.22.
He went on to take third in the 500 meters with a time of 1:07.36, and
anchored the 4x800 meter relay team to victory with a split of 1:58.5.
The team's overall time, the third fastest in school history, was a PSAC
leading clocking of 8:01.90.
Ritz, a junior jumper and sprinter, took third place in the long jump at
the Denault Invitational with an NCAA Provisional Qualifying mark of
18'4-1/2". The mark currently
puts her atop the PSAC standings by more than nine inches.
She also placed sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 36'3-1/2"
The Lock Haven track and field teams next compete at the PSAC Indoor
Track and Field Championships, hosted by Kutztown University at Lehigh
University this Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23 and 24.
