LHU's Stinson Earns PSAC Field Athlete of the Week Honors

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania men’s track and field’s Matt Stinson (Wescosville/Emmaus) was selected as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Field Athlete of the Week for events ending February 2. 
            Stinson earns the conference’s weekly accolades following a victory in the pentathlon at the Bison Open.  The Bald Eagle senior out-performed a field of 28 athletes including four decathlon All-Americans en route to a school-record of 3,885 points. He provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a PSAC-best mark of 23’6-1/4” in the long jump, established a new school record of 8.41 in the 60-meter high hurdles and posted a 6’7-1/2” in the high jump.  Stinson was also selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
            Both LHU men’s and women’s track and field teams will be in competition this weekend, Sat., Feb. 8, at the Kent State Open and the Susquehanna University Invitational.
