(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s track and field’s Jennifer Farrow (Canton/Athens), Anesu Mushonga (Bowling Green, Ky./Prince Edward) and Matt Stinson (Wescosville/Emmaus) were all selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division II Track and Field Athletes of the Week in their respective arena of competition.
Farrow earned the ECAC Division II Women’s Track Athlete of the Week honor after setting two school records at this past weekend’s Bison Open held at Bucknell University.  She won the 500 meters in a school-record pace of 1:16.16, just over five seconds faster than the rest of the field, and finished second in the 200 meters in 25.83, also an LHU all-time best.  Her time of 7.39 in the 55 meters placed her third overall. On the season, the Haven senior owns the fastest time in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) in the 200 meters and 500 meters and is second on the conference’s 55-meter list.
Mushonga, a sophomore, was selected as the ECAC Division II Men’s Track Athlete of the Week.  He broke a pair of school records at the Bison Open, winning the 200 meters in a record-setting time of 22.52 and finished second in the 55 meters in 6.51, also a new school mark.  He rounded out his day as a member of the second-place 4x400 meter relay squad. Mushonga’s times place him second in the PSAC in both events.
Stinson earned ECAC Division II Men’s Field Athlete of the Week accolades following a victory in the pentathlon at the Bison Open.  The Bald Eagle senior out-performed a field of 28 athletes including four decathlon All-Americans en route to a school-record of 3,885 points. He provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with a PSAC-best mark of 23’6-1/4” in the long jump, established a new school record of 8.41 in the 60 meter high hurdles and posted a 6’7-1/2” in the high jump.  Stinson was also selected as the PSAC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week.
Both LHU men’s and women’s track and field teams will be in competition this weekend, Sat., Feb. 8, at the Kent State Open and the Susquehanna University Invitational.
