LHU Tracksters Farrow, Mushonga and Palazzi Earn ECAC Weekly Honors

(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania men’s and women’s track and field’s Jennifer Farrow (Canton/Athens), Anesu Mushonga (Bowling Green, Ky./Prince Edward) and Bri Palazzi (Altoona/Altoona) were selected as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Women’s and Men’s Track and Women’s Field Athletes of the Week, respectively, for all events ending Feb. 9.  Both Farrow and Mushonga were also honored as Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Track Athletes of the Week.
Jennifer Farrow earned PSAC accolades and ECAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second-straight week after bettering her own PSAC record in the 400 meters with a time of 57.25 at the Doug Raymond Invitational at Kent State University this past weekend. The senior Lady Eagle also ran a 25.90 in the 200 meters, the second-best conference time this season trailing only her own mark of 25.83.
This is also the second-straight ECAC Track Athlete of the Week accolade for Bald Eagle sophomore Anesu Mushonga as well as the first PSAC award.  Mushonga broke one PSAC and two school records this past week at the Doug Raymond Invitational.  He set both records in the 60 meters with a time of 7.06, and the school mark as a member of the 4x400 relay by running a 48.4 split in the third leg to record a final time of 3:17.54.  That relay time meets NCAA provisional qualifying standards and is currently the second-best time in the conference this season.
Lady Eagle freshman Bri Palazzi had a trio of notable performances at the Orange and Maroon Classic held at Susquehanna University.  Palazzi ran the second leg of the winning 4x200 meter relay (1:49.9), finished second in the triple jump (36’0”) and fifth in the long jump (16’6”). This is her first ECAC Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Both LHU men’s and women’s track and field teams will be at the Winter Classic at Bucknell University this Saturday, Feb. 15.
