Below is the LHU weight-by-weight preview:

125: Jim Collins (Jonestown/Northern Lebanon) is now 11-13 overall following losses against two ranked opponents in West Virginia’s No. 17-ranked Seth Lisa (8-4) and No. 14-ranked Jordan Sianni (F 6:02).

133: Justin Owens (Morrisdale/West Branch) earned PSAC Wrestler of the Week honors after going 2-0 last week with a technical fall and major decision. He scored a 12-3 major decision versus West Virginia’s Troy Forte, and a 16-0 technical fall over James Thornton of Pittsburgh. Owens defeated Bloomsburg’s Justin Haupt, 8-2, for third place at the PSAC Tournament.

141:
No. 7-ranked Mike Maney (Clarence/Bald Eagle Area) (23-2) is back in the picture again following an 8-1 decision over Ronald Tarquinio of Pittsburgh last weekend. Maney faced Bloomsburg’s Mark Piermattei in the first round of the PSAC Tournament, pinning the Huskie in 3:18. The Bald Eagles’ John Holsinger (Pennsburg/Quakertown) will also make the trip. Holsinger is 1-7 overall.

149: James LaValle (East Hanover, N.J./Hanover Park) fell to 10-15 overall after a pair of losses last weekend. LaValle lost to No. 7-ranked Billy Smith, 12-2, before a slim 4-1 loss to No. 19-ranked Justin Giovinco of Pittsburgh. A 6-3 loss to Bloomsburg’s Brad Forbes in the semifinals tossed LaValle into the consolation bracket at the PSAC tournament.

157: Charlie Brenneman (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg) remains unable to wrestle due to a knee injury, so rookie Matt Marquart (Rutherford, N.J./Rutherford) will again earn the start for the Bald Eagles at 157 pounds. In his first starting appearances, Marquart (3-6) lost by major decision to both WVU’s Mike Torriero and Pittsburgh’s Justin Nestor.

165: Jason Gilligan (Brookville/Brookville) will be looking to rebound after two losses this past weekend. Gilligan, now 14-9 overall, lost 3-2 to No. 8-ranked Tom McMath of West Virginia, and was pinned by Pittsburgh’s Francis Iorfido. The Bald Eagle scored a 16-3 major decision versus Bloomsburg’s Ryan Garner in the PSAC tournament semifinals.

174: Chris Haines (Gettysburg/Gettysburg) had his hands full last weekend, facing top-ranked Greg Jones of West Virginia (L, 15-5) and No. 13-ranked Carl Fronhofer (L, 18-2). Haines, now 9-14 overall, lost by just two points, 4-2, to Bloomsburg’s Hunter Guenot in the semifinals of the PSAC tournament.

184: Mike Greenberg (Canton/Canton) went 1-1 last weekend, losing to West Virginia’s No. 17-ranked Ryan Wilman, 3-1, before defeating Pittsburgh’s Mike Croyle 8-3. Greenberg posted a 13-2 major decision over the Huskies’ Chad Hoare for fifth place at the conference tournament.

197: Morgan Horner (Hasbrouck Heights, N.J./Hasbrouck Heights) won both of his bouts this past weekend, scoring major decisions over Adrian Thompson of West Virginia (15-7) and Gregg Osbeck of Pittsburgh (18-5). Horner, now 14-8 overall, is ranked 12th in the nation by the Amateur Wrestling News.

HWT:
