LHU Soccer Players Merit Academic All-District Honors

(Lock Haven, Pa.) - Two Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania soccer players have been selected as 2001 Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District team members, Rob Battisson (Leicester, England/High Wyland) of the men’s program and Rebecca Nichols (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth) from the women’s team.
The members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) by districts select the Verizon Academic All-District Team, and the first team selections move onto the national ballot for Academic All-America honors.
The College Division District II consists of all non-NCAA Division I colleges and universities in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  To be nominated, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore with a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and a starter or significant reserve on his or her team.
