Below is a weight-by-weight preview:
125: The responsibilities for the win at 125 pounds rest on the shoulders of LHU mainstay Trap McCormack (Loganton/Bald Eagle Nittany), who continues to be ranked #18 in the nation. McCormack is now 10-2 overall after going 3-0 last weekend, including a major decision and a technical fall.
Clarion’s Peter Derstine (11-6) will wrestle at 125 pounds after going 2-1 at the Hampton duals. McCormack met up with Derstine once last season in EWL dual meet competition, pinning the Golden Eagle in the first period.
133: Lock Haven’s Chris Spealler (Paoli/Great Valley) and Victor Jackson (Hampton, Va./Poquoson) will vie for the starting role and the win for the Bald Eagles at 133 pounds. Spealler is currently 10-4, last scoring two wins, a fall and a major decision, over his respective Virginia and George Mason opponents. Jackson has an overall mark of 11-5.
Clarion’s Rad Martinez (17-2) is one of two ranked grapplers for the Golden Eagles, listed #7 in the nation. Martinez, this week’s PSAC Wrestler of the Week, won all three matches last weekend, including a 12-3 major decision over the Citadel’s Sean Markey.
141: Mike Maney (Clarence/Bald Eagle Area) maintains his #5 ranking, going 2-1 this past weekend to improve to 12-1 overall. Maney’s only loss came against another top-ranked wrestler, #3 Sean Gray of Virginia Tech in a 7-3 decision.
He can expect competition from Clarion’s Stephen Stremple, who was 2-1 over the past weekend and 4-4 overall.

Billman, at 17-0, is LHU’s only undefeated grappler and is the #2-ranked wrestler in the country. Of his 17 wins, 15 have earned the Bald Eagles bonus points, including five falls, seven technical falls, and three major decisions. LaValle is 9-4 overall, last defeating one of George Mason’s top wrestlers, Adrian Austin, 8-3 on Saturday.
Senior Golden Eagle Dominic Surra went 1-2 last weekend to move his overall ledger to 8-8 on the season. LHU’s Billman defeated Surra twice last season, both times by major decision.

Millard, ranked #17, dropped a tough, 6-5, decision to #5 Scott Justus of Virginia Tech this past weekend, and is now 8-5 for the season. Greenberg is 4-5 on the season, most recently going 1-2 on LHU’s southern trip.
Clarion’s Marcus Surin (1-13) will challenge The Haven duo for the win here. In most recent action, Surin went 0-3 at the Hampton duals.
197: Senior Bald Eagle Avery Zerkle (Urbana, Ohio/Graham) is expected to be ready to compete this Friday after sitting out last weekend due to a knee injury. Zerkle is 5-3 after picking up a win by forfeit against George Mason.
Zerkle’s opponent will be a familiar one in Clarion’s Eric Mausser (18-6), who went 2-1 last weekend at the Hampton duals. The two grapplers faced eachother on three occasions last season. Zerkle won the dual meet match-up, 2-1, and a 6-2 decision in the first round of the EWL Championships. Mausser captured a 3-2 victory over Zerkle, however, at the NCAA Championships.
