Lady Eagle Soccer's Becky Nichols Earns PSAC Top Ten Award

(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Becky Nichols (Wind Gap, Pa./Nazareth), a senior soccer player for Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, was recognized as a Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Fall Top Ten award winner, as released today by the conference office.

The PSAC Top Ten awards recognize five male and five female student-athletes from the PSAC who distinguish themselves in the classroom, as well as in the arena of competition.  The conference designates Top Ten Award winners after each of the competitive sports seasons, fall, winter and spring.
Nichols, a four-year starting midfielder for the Lady Eagle soccer team, earned First Team All-Northeast Region and Second Team All-PSAC honors this season.  Also a Verizon/CoSIDA Academic All-District selection, she posted six goals and three assists from her midfield position as she helped lead LHU to its first-ever undefeated conference season (11-0-0) and an overall 16-3-1 ledger.  Nichols was an All-American in 2000, and is a four-time First Team All-Northeast Region and All-PSAC pick. Carrying a cumulative 3.81 grade point average in Criminal Justice, she is a two-time Academic All-District and PSAC Scholar-Athlete honoree.  At the close of her four-year career, Nichols ranks seventh all-time at Lock Haven with 19 goals and ninth overall with 48 career points.
