LHU Wrestling's Maney To Compete At NWCA All-Star Classic

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania wrestling’s Mike Maney (Clarence/Bald Eagle Area) has accepted the invitation to compete in the 37th Annual Cape Cod Potato Chips/National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) All-Star Classic. This year’s All-Star Classic is being hosted by the Delaware Wrestling Alliance at the University of Delaware’s Bob Carpenter Center on February 3 at 8 p.m.
            Maney is a consensus top ten-ranked grappler at 141 pounds, listed sixth by Amateur Wrestling News (1/21) and seventh in the nation by InterMat (1/21).  Maney’s opponent will be No. 3/4-ranked  (AWN/InterMat) Dylan Long of Northern Iowa who has tallied a 20-3 season ledger.  Long, a junior grappler, is a two-time NCAA Division I Championships qualifier for the Panthers.

           Making his first appearance at the NWCA All-Star meet, Maney is the Bald Eagles’ wins leader with a 19-2 overall record this season.  He has posted a team-high six major decisions along with four pins and a technical fall.
            The Lock Haven Bald Eagles (10-6, 1-0 EWL) are at the 60th Annual Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Wrestling Championships this upcoming weekend, Friday through Saturday, January 24-25, being held at Millersville University.  The Haven jumps back into EWL competition the following week, traveling out to Cleveland State University on Friday, January 31, before a trip up to Edinboro University on Saturday, February 1.
