Haven, Pa.) - The
Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania wrestling program has announced nine
student-athletes who will make up its 2002 recruiting class.
Among the group are four state champions with a combined total of five
state titles. Additionally, one
wrestler, Jeremy Walsh from Oley Valley, is ranked fifth nationally at 130
pounds and was a third-team Senior High School All-American.
The 2002-2003 Bald Eagle wrestling team will be led by first-year head
coach Rocky Bonomo, who assumed the reigns of the program in April.
Last year the LHU grapplers posted a 17-4 dual meet record.
The Bald Eagles were runners-up at the Pennsylvania State Athletic
Conference championship and third at the Eastern Wrestling League championship.
Lock Haven finished 19th overall at the NCAA Division I
National Championships with two All-Americans, 141-pounder Mike Maney
and149-pounder JaMarr Billman.
