Haven Lacrosse Trio Named To Senior All-Star Lineup

 

                   

  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Three women’s lacrosse players from Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, Megan Dwyer (Collegeville/Perkiomen Valley), Anne Marie Ritzell (Silver Spring, Md./Springbrook) and Amanda Vetterlein (Springfield, Va./West Springfield), were selected to participate in the 2003 STX Division II North-South Senior All-Star Game. The Division II all-star game is slated for June 7 at 3:30 p.m. on Curley Field on the campus of Loyola (Md.) College. 
            Senior attacker Megan Dwyer, Lock Haven’s career (79) and single season (39) assist leader, is a two-time All-American and a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) selection.  This season she led the PSAC and was second in the NCAA Division II in points per game with an average of 5.38 points on 50 goals and 36 assists.  She is third on LHU’s all-time goals chart with 134 goals.
            Anne Marie Ritzell recently wrapped up four years as a letterwinner for the Lady Eagles. Splitting duties as a midfielder and an attacker, Ritzell had her most productive season in 2003 scoring 13 goals along with seven assists. Over the span of her career, she collected 29 goals and 10 assists.
            Senior defender Amanda Vetterlein is also a four-year letterwinner who earned Second Team All-PSAC honors this past season.  Vetterlein, a PSAC Top Ten winner and Verizon Academic All-District selection, helped rank the 2003 Lady Eagle defense third among conference schools in goals allowed.  This season she also aided the offense with four assist.
            The Lock Haven University lacrosse team finished 8-8 overall and was 3-3 in the PSAC.
