LHU Women's Basketball Announces 2003 Recruiting Class

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania women’s basketball program has announced seven student-athletes who make up its 2003 recruiting class. Elizabeth Gabriel (State College/State College), Allison Hall (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg), Shameka Lee (Washington, D.C./H.D. Woodson), Jennifer Quay (Lewistown/Indian Valley), Candace Sellers (Lebanon/Lebanon), Kendra Tribue (York/York Suburban) and Ginger Williams (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) will join the returning members of the Lady Eagle basketball team for the upcoming campaign. 
            The 2003-04 Lady Eagle basketball team will be led by second-year head coach Britt King.  Last year The Haven went 7-18 overall, winning the Carol Eckman Classic and finishing as the runners-up at the Lynn/Holiday Inn Shootout. Lock Haven finished seventh in the PSAC West, while junior guard Cyndi Crowl earned Second Team All-PSAC West honors.           

The following is the list of LHU’s recruits and their credentials:

Elizabeth Gabriel
5’5” - Guard - State College, Pa. (State College)

State College High School team finished 26-3 and advanced to the 2003 and 2002 PIAA semifinals… Helped lead Paint Branch (Md.) High School squad to a state championship in 10th grade.

Allison Hall
5’9” - Forward - Hollidaysburg, Pa. (Hollidaysburg Area)

Averaged 10.1 ppg and 7.4 rpg for Hollidaysburg Area High School.

has announced seven incoming

make contributions to the 
2003-04 Lady Eagle squad.

  Shameka Lee
6’2” - Forward –Washington, D.C. (H.D. Woodson)

Helped lead the H.D. Woodson Warriors to the 2003 DCIAA championship, the team’s ninth-straight District public school league’s crown.

Jennifer Quay
5’9” – Forward - Lewistown, Pa. (Indian Valley)

Averaged 14.6 ppg, 7.8 rpg and 3.0 apg for Indian Valley High School... Three-time First Team All-Mountain League selection.

Candace Sellers
5’6” – Guard - Lebanon, Pa. (Lebanon)

Averaged 20.1 ppg, 7.2 apg, and 8.0 rpg for Lebanon High School...Lebanon County scoring leader and the second-leading scorer in the Lancaster-Lebanon League... Also an All-County field hockey player.

Kendra Tribue
5’7”- Guard - York, Pa. (York Suburban)

Averaged 15.5 ppg, 4.0 rpg and 4.0 apg for York Suburban High School.  

Ginger Williams
5’11” – Forward – Pasadena, Md. (Chesapeake)

2003 All-Anne Arundel County First Team forward… Averaged 14.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game in senior season… Participant in 2003 Pennsylvania-Maryland Shootout… Chesapeake High School squad reached the state semifinals in her junior season… Won Class AAAA state titles in the discus in 2003 and in the shot put in 2002…Two-time All-Metro and All-Anne Arundel County in track.
