LHU's Farrow Earns Verizon Academic All-America Honor

   
  (Lock Haven, Pa.) -  Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania four-time track and field All-American Jennifer Farrow (Canton/Athens) was selected as a Verizon Academic All-America College Division Track & Field/Cross Country Second Team member as recently released by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).  
            This is the first honor as a Verizon Academic All-American for Farrow, however the senior sprinter was also a Track and Field Coaches Association All-Academic award winner following the 2002 season.  She was the 2003 NCAA Division II East Region and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Athlete of the Year after becoming Lock Haven’s first three-time outdoor All-American, placing fourth in the 400 meters (54.52) at the NCAA Division II National Championship. At the 2003 PSAC Championships, Farrow captured three titles, winning the 400 meters (55.41), the 200 meters (25.09) and anchoring the first-place 4x100 meter relay (47.81). 
         Over her career, Farrow has garnered All-America on four occasions with three outdoor and one indoor accolade, and is also one of eight females in the PSAC to win four straight conference titles after capturing gold in the 400 meters all four seasons.  She was a 2002 PSAC Spring Top Ten award winner.  A graduate student academically, Farrow earned her bachelor’s degree in Recreation/Fitness Management from Lock Haven University and finished with a cumulative 3.357 grade point average.  She then enrolled in the University’s Masters in Liberal Arts program, carrying a 3.85 grade point average.           
         
The members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) by districts select the Verizon Academic All-District Team, and the first team selections move onto the national ballot for Academic All-America Honors.  The Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country College Division awards, consisting of all non-Division I colleges and universities, honor a First, Second and Third Team of 15 members each.
