(Lock
Haven, Pa.) - Jennifer
Farrow (Canton/Athens) and Joe
Webster (Folcroft/Monsignor Bonner), both of the Lock Haven University of
Pennsylvania track and field teams, were selected as the Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference (PSAC) Men’s Track and Co-Women’s Track Athletes of the
Week, respectively, for events ending May 4.
Jennifer
Farrow placed first in three events at last Saturday’s LHU Qualifier.
The junior sprinter was first in the 100 meters with a winning time of
12.40 and was part of the first-place 4x100 meter relay, which set a
school-record with a 47.77 clocking. Farrow
also won the 400 meters in a new PSAC and school record time of 55.13, which
ranks her sixth in the nation.
Joe
Webster, a junior, captured wins in both the 200 meters (21.89) and 400
meters (48.10) and was a member of the second-place 4x100 meter relay (42.21)
at this weekend’s LHU Qualifier. His
time in the 200 meters matches the best existing time in the PSAC this season,
and his 400-meter time currently ranks him second among all conference
opponents.
The
Lock Haven track and field teams will both compete for the 2002 PSAC Outdoor
Track and Field Championship this weekend, May 9-11, at Kutztown University.
