(Lock
Haven, Pa.) - In Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania
athletic history, their has never been a student-athlete who was a member of
three Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) championship teams in one
year. This year three student-athletes have accomplished this feat -- Jocelyn
Held (Slatington, Pa./Northwestern Lehigh), Fonati Ward (Hershey, Pa./Milton
Hershey), and Brooke Rangi (Kawerau, New Zealand/Kawerau College).
Each was a member of three PSAC championship teams during the
2001-2002 school year.
Held and Ward both competed on the 2001 PSAC championship field hockey
team and were members of both championship indoor and outdoor track and field
squads. Held also went on to capture the individual crown in the pole vault
during the outdoor track and field championships, while Ward was a member of
the first-place distance medley relay during the indoor season and the 4x400 championship relay in
outdoor track season.
