Haven University of Pennsylvania softball players Lynnette Murray
(Williamsport/S. Williamsport) and Lynn Spiezio (Trooper/Methacton) were
both First Team selections on the recently released Louisville Slugger/NFCA
Division II All-Mid-Atlantic Region team.
It is the second regional
honor for senior second baseman Lynnette Murray, who paced Haven
infielders with a .993 fielding percentage, posting 105 putouts, 47 assists and
only one error all season. She hit .346 and led LHU along with ranking among
Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) leaders in RBIs (28), doubles
(10) and home runs (4). Her 37
hits and 14 stolen bases were second on the team.
With her RBI total from the season, Murray wraps up her career as the
Haven’s all-time leader in the category with 81 over the span of just
three-years after transferring from Penn College.
In addition to her regional honors, Murray is a two-time All-PSAC West
player and earned All-America honors last season.

Murray and Spiezio were both First Team
All-Mid-Atlantic Region selections.

Sophomore outfielder Lynn Spiezio makes her first appearance on
the all-region list. She is also a two-time All-PSAC selection.
Spiezio led the team and was fourth in the conference with a .394
batting average. She also paced
LHU in at bats (109), runs (22) and hits (43).
She is the conference leader in stolen bases, registering a total of 17
on the season.
The Lock Haven University
softball team wrapped up the 2003 campaign at 13-21 overall and 8-12 in the
PSAC Western Division.
