(Lock Haven, Pa.) - Diana
Strizki (Flemington, N.J./Hunterdon Central),
a lacrosse player at Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania, was chosen to take
part in the seventh annual NCAA Leadership Conference as one of 302
student-athletes tabbed as current or future leaders on their college campuses.
The conference, held May 25-29 at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort and
the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex in Lake Buena Vista, Fla., is offered
to enhance student-athletes’ leadership and communication skills and to
enable them to become more effective leaders and motivators when they return to
campus.
Strizki, who recently completed her second season with the Lady Eagle
lacrosse program, is a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC)
attacker who was second on the team with 47 goals and 17 assists for 64 total
points. With 89 career goals and 34 career assists, the sophomore Lady Eagle is
already ranked sixth on the LHU all-time goals chart and third all-time in
assists.

Strizki has volunteered as a store manager at several field hockey camps
while at Lock Haven and served three years as the team manager for the New
Heights Field Hockey Club. Volunteer work also included assisting in the event
management for the NCAA Division II Field Hockey National Championships and as
part of the LHU lacrosse team’s community leaf raking project. Academically, the Special Education major has been on the
Dean’s List every semester and is a PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
This year’s class of student-athletes was selected from a total of
1,172 nomination forms submitted by college and university officials who have
NCAA CHAMPS/Life Skills programs at their institutions.
The convention setting allows the student-athletes the opportunity to
create dialogue surrounding topics that affect them on campus and in their
communities. The conference also
provides them with exercises to enhance their decision-making and
problem-solving skills, and improve planning and priority management.
