(Lock Haven, Pa.) -  The Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania volleyball team placed five players on the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-Atlantic Region Team as released this past week.  Making a repeat performance on the all-region list were Kelli Crouch (Lancaster/Conestoga Valley) and Shana Fessette (Plattsburgh, N.Y./Beekmantown Central), while Lauren Nuzum (Manchester/Northeastern), Amanda Snyder (Portsmouth, Va./Churchland), and Kara Warnke (Aurora, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit) all mark their inaugural selection to the premier list.
Senior outside hitter Kelli Crouch earns her second all-region selection in as many years.  Crouch was among conference leaders all season and leads the Lady Eagles with 504 kills (3.45 per game) and 486 digs (3.33 per game), along with 52 service aces.  Her digs total is a new LHU single season record, and now with 218 career service aces, she is fourth all-time at The Haven and needs just six more to own the record.   Crouch is also a two-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) honoree.
Shana Fessette, a senior setter, recently became Lock Haven’s all-time assists leader with 5,890 assists.  A four-time All-PSAC pick and now a two-time all-region selection, Fessette averages 12.12 assists per game, is third on the team in blocks (97) and service aces (53), and is fourth with 325 digs.  The senior was awarded all-tournament honors at both the Fairfield Inn Classic and the Lock Haven Classic this season, as well as earning an All-Atlantic Region Tournament team selection.
It is the first appearance on the All-Atlantic Region team for senior outside hitter Lauren Nuzum.  Nuzum is second among Lady Eagles with 494 kills and 424 digs.  She nabbed All-Atlantic Region Tournament team honors after recording a .384 hitting percentage with 37 kills and 40 digs in the two-match stretch, and was also a Lock Haven Classic all-tournament team selection.  For the season, Nuzum adds 51 service aces and 56 total blocks.
Rookie opposite hitter Amanda Snyder has made an immediate impact on the success of the Lady Eagle squad, contributing 318 kills (2.29 per game) with a .274 attack percentage.  Snyder has also recorded 239 digs along with 74 total blocks.
Kara Warnke, a sophomore middle hitter, also makes her first appearance on the All-Atlantic Region team.  A two-time All-PSAC hitter, Warnke leads the Lady Eagles with a .296 hitting percentage (361 kills) and a team-best 147 blocks.  The sophomore middle has also contributed 336 digs and 45 service aces.
The Lady Eagle volleyball team (28-12) under the guidance of 11th year Head Coach Tom Justice travels to the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, from Thursday, Nov. 29 through Sat., December 1, to challenge for the NCAA Division II National Championship.  Lock Haven, the Atlantic Region champion, will face UC San Diego (24-6) of the Pacific Region in the Elite Eight round.
