LHU Harrier Chris Cowan Named PSAC Rookie of the
Year

Cowan
(Horseheads, N.Y./Thomas A. Edison),
a freshman cross country runner for the Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania,
was selected the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Rookie of the
Year, as voted on by the coaches of the conference.
Cowan won All-PSAC honors finishing fourth at the PSAC Championships in
a time of 25:10, the first Bald Eagle to cross the finish line. He also led The
Haven in the NCAA Division II East Regional Championships, finishing third and
posting a time of 33:57, earning himself All-Region honors.
Cowan closed out his inaugural season at the NCAA Division II National
Championship as an individual qualifier, finishing 46th in a field
of 179 runners with the time of 33:34.9 on the 10 kilometer course. He had the
third best finish among PSAC runners at the national meet, and was also the
third fastest freshman finisher of the race.
The Lock Haven men's cross country team finished fourth at both the PSAC
championships and NCAA Division II East Regional Championships.
