Haven, Pa.) - The 2002 National Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCAA) Division II National Field Hockey Championships will be
hosted by Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania.
The four-team field for the national tournament includes Bloomsburg
University (19-0) and Lock Haven University (18-4) from the South Region and
Bentley College (16-4) and Bryant College (13-4) from the North Region.
Semifinal match-ups will be held on Friday, November 8, and start times are slated for 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
The championship game will be on Sunday, November 10, at 1 p.m. All
games will be played at Charlotte Smith Field.
The semifinals will have the four teams paired on a regional basis.
The North Region’s Bentley and Bryant will play in the 5 p.m.
semifinal while Bloomsburg and Lock Haven out of the South Region pair up in
the second semifinal game.
Bentley College is the defending national champion, while Lock Haven has
five Division II titles with the last coming in 2000.
Bloomsburg University owns six national titles, its most recent won in
1999. Bryant College is the
newcomer to the field, making its first appearance in the playoffs.
Tickets for all games are $7
for adults and $3 for students, and can be purchased at the gate on game day.
