Purpose Statement: The purpose of the Women's Wrestling team is to support the mission and goals of the University by developing the character and enhancing the educational experience of the team members through wrestling training and competition.

Mission Statement: The LHU Women's Wrestling team will become a 'center for excellence' for female athletes involved in wrestling, while providing outstanding academic preparation and  wrestling training. LHU's Women's Wrestling seeks to provide an environment that enables the student-athlete to achieve their academic and athletic goals and to promote the maximum development of the individual as a student, athlete and citizen.

Background: Lock Haven isn't MatTown USA For nothing. With multiple national champions and many All-Americans, The Haven has a brooding wrestling background of intense success. But it's not limited to just the men. The 2004 Olympic Games in Athens saw LHU product Sara McMann bring home the Silver Medal starting an amazing journey for LHU Women's Wrestling.
